Internet Explorer Issues (For 40% of you)

One of the things that always irks me a hour before wanting to launch a new site, is the inevitable Internet Explorer compatibility issues that needs some sorting… And unfortunately they can’t be fixed in a hour, which means that I end up spending hours fixing silly problems (as I did over the weekend prior to launching my new design…

Adii Browser Traffic Stats

If you have a look at the graph below (stats are based on data from Google Analytics for the last 30 days), you’ll notice that only about 40% of my readers are actually still using Internet Explorer on Windows - which in my mind is a lot lower than I expected, as well as lower as general averages online. But irrespective of how low that percentage is, it’s still almost half of my readers, which means for the time-being I’m stuck with fixing IE bugs…

It is however comforting to know that 60% of you have already seen the light (and walked towards it) by using some standards-compatible browsers. Personally I love Firefox and since switching to Mac, it works even better - Safari’s not bad, but it’s about personal preference - lucky though both these browsers renders websites about 99% the same (unlike IE).

Anyway, I’d like to pose a question to everyone who’s reading this post, that’s still using either IE6 or IE7 for Windows… Please just tell me why you are still stuck with that beast!?
